Children were baptized in Ballyloughloe RC parish near Moate, 
Westmeath (documented baptismal surname spelling varies: Burn-Burne-Burns).
Entire family emigrated in 1848 to NYC, NY on ship Howard via 
Liverpool (under surname 'Burnes'). 
The group is positively identified in the 1850 US census: 14th Ward, NYC, NY
 - 'Peter Burns' and family with occupation 'cooper'.
