Civil registrations of births in Ireland were mandated in 1864. Prior to
that you can only hope to find a baptismal record, in which case you need
to know the parish. There are heritage centres indexing parish records in
almost every county in Ireland. In Mayo, there are two, one for Mayo North
and the other Mayo South. The Mayo North heritage centre has Church of
Ireland parish records for Foxford (not Faxford) 1844-1900, but as of the
4th edition of the Irish Family History Society's "Directory of Parish
Registers Indexed in Ireland" published in 2000, they do not have any
Roman Catholic records indexed for Foxford.
