O’Conboirne of Erris

In Genealogies by O’Donovan, reference is made to a family named MacConboirne, also known as O’Conboirne, located in the barony of Erris in western County Mayo.  O’Donovan footnotes that the name is now Burns, “which is a great corruption”. Erris is a large area, but O’Donovan provided no further details about the family’s location.
